All vehicles are now fitted with on board computers alongside other technology to help run and monitor the inner workings of the vehicle. One of the primary functions of these computer systems relates to safety – ensuring your vehicle operates within the manufacturers parameters. These systems monitor the engine, the safety systems (ABS, Anti-slip etc..) to ensure they run correctly.
Most people will only become aware of these computers when there is a fault and one of the indicator lights illuminates on the dashboard (engine light, ABS light, Oil pressure etc..). These lights could mean a variety of things – some are only minor faults which can be solved easily, others are more serious problems that will need repair work.
